One of the most exciting and intellectually challenging aspects of your first year at Adelphi will be your First-Year Seminar (FYS). Each year faculty from across the University create seminar courses on topics we are passionate about to help you engage in life.

The Writing Center is a free service available to any Adelphi undergraduate or graduate student. We assist writers of all levels—from those who have difficulty getting started to those grappling with sophisticated arguments—with essay assignments in all subjects, lab reports or other writing projects.

However, our LGS Admissions Committee always evaluates academic performance, alongside a student’s overall qualities and strengths, LGS personal statement, university application essay, letters of recommendation, school achievements and other indicators of community and global involvement.

First-year students entering Adelphi University for the fall semester are invited to participate in our orientation program. This program for all new first-year students gives you the opportunity to learn about the different Adelphi services available, meet various administrators and faculty, explore the many possibilities for campus involvement, and more.

Campus Advisory: Classes are in session remotely through the end of spring semester and for summer session I. Our satellite centers in Manhattan, Hudson Valley and Suffolk County are closed; however, all staff and units are accessible remotely.
